Welcome to the Craniofacial Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
We are an interspeciality group set up for the study of cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies.
Our main functions are to organise an annual scientific meeting, sponsor research, comment on medico-political issues relating to cleft lip and palate service provision, provide an archive of conference material and provide a membership directory.
Our current membership reflects the composition of teams throughout the country treating patients with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies. Current members come from the following professions:
- Surgeons (maxillofacial, paediatric and plastic)
- Clinical Nurse Specialists
- Clinical Psychologists
- Speech and Language Therapy
Among related and supporting disciplines we attract members who are:
- Audiological Physicians
- Cleft Network Managers
- Dental Technicians
- Dental Therapists
- Paediatric Dentists
- Restorative Dentists
We also have Life Members, Honorary Members and Senior Members.
Annual meetings are held at varying locations around Great Britain and Ireland. Papers and Posters are invited for inclusion in the conference. The Arnold Huddart Medal was established in 1990 for the encouragement of original and promising research papers and is awarded at the conference.
