All babies receive a new-born hearing screen at birth.

Children born with a cleft often need additional hearing tests so that hearing problems are diagnosed and can be managed appropriately.

By being part of the cleft team it is hoped that any hearing problems can be diagnosed and treated early to minimise any negative impact on their communication and language development.
