Welcome to Newcastle and Howay! 

On behalf of the Newcastle team of the Northern and Yorkshire Cleft Lip and Palate Service I am delighted to invite you to the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Craniofacial Society of Great Britain and Ireland on the 30th April – 2nd May 2025.

It is the 40th birthday of our Society and what better place to celebrate it than the party city that is Newcastle?

Our celebratory themes are:  

Celebration, Ambition, Reflection and Excellence

These themes should help us look back at what we have achieved as well as forward, building on that knowledge base and energy to drive UK Cleft Care and our CFSGBI society into another exciting decade.

Our keynote speakers are all new to CFSGBI and have been chosen to appeal to all disciplines of cleft healthcare. I know that they will demand your attention and inspire us all to view the wider clinical and patient experience in new ways.   

We have really expanded the inclusion of those with a lived experience of cleft. Their input has been integral in our planning, and they will also be involved in delivering our scientific and social programmes, reminding us just who is at the centre of our work.

Newcastle is big on party and consequently arts and sports venues abound in the Toon!  Take some time to visit them! If yous is gannin’ oot and aboot, our stunning Northumberland countryside and coast line is a well-kept, beautiful secret, so why not tarry a while after our CFSGBI celebrations have ended?
